The Online BC Hunter Education Course is $80.00 + GST. This will give you complete access to the online course and the chapter quizzes. Once the course has been successfully completed, you will be able to print off your Online Course Completion Voucher and attend the written and practical exams.
The BC Online Course Completion Voucher is proof that you have passed the online portion of the hunter education course. The Online Course Completion Voucher allows you to attend the final written and practical exams held by a BCWF CORE Examiner to finalize your hunter education.
British Columbia requires hunters to complete the CORE Program which consists of a practical firearms handling examination and a written examination. Once you complete your online course education, you are required to meet with a BCWF CORE Examiner for the administration of these final tests.
In addition to the cost of the online course, there is a written test fee of $30 and a second practical test fee of $30.
When both examinations have been successfully completed, the examiner will give you a document of completion. You must send this form, along with a $30 administration fee, payable to the BCWF, to obtain a graduation certificate.
After passing the in-person exams, take your graduation certificate and request a Fish & Wildlife ID (FWID). FrontCounter BC and Service BC both offer hunting services and can create a FWID. Hunters can also apply for a FWID online. There is no cost for the FWID. Before a FWID is issued, you will have to prove that you are a BC resident and that you meet the minimum age requirements.
